The Origins of Space Coast Comic Con

Every legend starts somewhere.

Long before the crowds filled the halls, before cosplayers walked the aisles, before artists covered tables with stories and dreams, there were two people crazy enough to believe it could happen: David and Julie Grace.

In 2015, they built Space Coast Comic Con from nothing but grit, determination, and a love for the culture. There was no magic formula. No corporate machine. Just hard work, long nights, and the belief that the Space Coast deserved a convention of its own. Year after year, they fought to keep the dream alive, growing it into a gathering place for fans, creators, outcasts, and dreamers alike.

As the convention grew, another traveler found his way into the story.

Jake Estrada came aboard as a marketer, but like many things in life, fate had other plans. What started as promotion became partnership. What started as helping tell the story became helping write it.

Then came the plague years.

The world shut its doors. Events vanished. Communities fractured. Dreams that took years to build disappeared overnight. Space Coast Comic Con stood at a crossroads, and David and Julie made the difficult decision to step away from the battlefield.

But legends don’t die quietly.

Rather than let the fire go out, they passed the torch to Jake Estrada. The responsibility wasn’t just a business. It wasn’t just an event. It was a promise to the community that had gathered around it.

And so the torch changed hands.

Today, Space Coast Comic Con continues its march forward, carrying the scars, victories, and memories of every year that came before. New chapters are written. New creators rise. New fans discover the magic for the first time.

Yet the ghosts of the founders remain.

Every now and then, if you’re paying attention, you might spot David and Julie walking the convention floor. Not as organizers. Not as owners. But as living pieces of the convention’s history. The architects who laid the foundation. The first believers.

Because in the end, Space Coast Comic Con isn’t just a convention.

It’s a story.

And every story leaves behind legends.
